Abstract

The existence of fungal infections, which can cause plant illnesses, is one of
the difficulties in the agricultural sector. Fusarium oxysporum is a fungus that can
attack plant elements such as roots, stems, leaves, and flowers, and it has a wide
range of hosts. This fungus is one of the pathogenic fungi that spreads through the
soil and can harm cultivated plants significantly. The control efforts generally
involve using synthetic fungicides, but long-trem use can have unfavorable effects.
A more environmentally friendly alternative is to use noni fruit extract (Morinda
citrifolia L) plant fungicide, which has potential antifungal properties. Saveral
studies have shown that noni fruit extract can inhibit the growth of the
Coletotricum capsici fungus. This research aimed to determine the inhibiting
effect of noni fruit extract on the growth of the pathagenic F. oxysporum fungus.
This research used the Kirby Beuer disc diffusion method. The noni fruit extracts
were tested with a concentration of 10%, 15%, 20%, dan 25%. For comparisons,
synthetic fungicides were used as a positive control, and DMSO as a negative
control. The repetition was done 3 times. The parameter observed was the Zone of
Inhibition area. The data obtained were the analyzed using the F test, followed by
the Duncan-Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The finding showed that noni fruit
extracts were effective in inhibiting the pathogenic F. oxysporum fungus. The
greatest Zone of Inhibition area was 178,7 mm2, with a 25 percent extract
concentration, making it a strong category. However, the resulted Zone of
Inhibition was smaller than that of the synthetic fungicides, wich was 297,7 mm2,
wich was a very strong category.
