Abstract
Nowadays, the development of technology in the field of photography has entered people's life. Photography on smartphones continues to be of high quality with bigger pixels. The resulting photos are often unsatisfactory, such as lacking light or grainy so that the photo quality is less than optimal. The implementation of contrast stretching and median filtering is expected to correct the imperfections in the image results.
Contrast stretching is a technique to get a new image with higher contrast than the original. Low contrast images can be caused by insufficient light or the lack of dynamic field on the image sensor. Median filtering is an algorithm for taking the middle value in an image. It serves to improve image quality by reducing noise or spots in the image. This research used Flutter with Dart language to make the application.
The Waterfall method was used to develop this application. A median filtering algorithm was used in the implementation of contrast stretching on the application to improve the image quality, using several samples for this research. Based on the research results, the object experienced a significant increase in contrast. The test showed that the final result of the colors in the histogram was evenly distributed in all places. It indicated that there had been some changes in the photo.
