This descriptive qualitative research aimed to describe the forms of endophoric reference in sports news discourse of Kompas daily newspaper September 2020 edition. The data included the sentences containing the signs of endophoric reference based on the reference position and the object type obtained from the paragraphs of the discourse in the newspaper. The stages of this research were: (1) data provision, (2) data analysis, and (3) data display. This research used observation method (uninvolved conversation observation)and noting technique for the data provision. The data analysis used distributional method with segmenting immediate constituent technique and continued with substitution technique. Meanwhile, the data result were displayed with formal and informal presentation. The results revealed many forms of endophore reference in the newspaper. There were 168 data of anaphoric references including 127 data of persona references consisted of 7 saya persona references, 32 dia persona references, 11 nya persona references, 46 mereka persona references, 23 ia persona references, and 8 kami persona references. Besides, 41 demonstrative references were also found which consisted of 11 ini demonstrative references, 26 itu demonstrative references, 3 sana demonstrative references, and 1 sini demonstrative reference. There were also cataphoric references including 85 data of persona references which consisted of 34 saya persona references, 3 dia persona references, 21 nya persona references, 2 mereka persona references, 4 ia persona references, and 20 kami persona references. The other 2 demonstrative references consisting of 2 itu demonstrative references were also found. In addition, there were also 15 comparative references consisting of 15 seperti comparative references.
