Abstract
Many student believe that mathematics is difficult, which contributes to their lack of ability to solve mathematical problems. Female students are more worried than male ones when handling math problems. Pythagoras was the material used in this study. The aim of the research was to describe mathematical problem-solving skills viewed from gender among students in the special sport class (KKO) at SMP Negeri 4 Purbalingga, with the research subjects of KKO class VIII. In this study, three male students and three female students were selected as repondents. Mathematical problem-solving skill test, interviews, and documentation were employed to collect data for this study. The Miles and Huberman model was used to analyze the data in this study, which included data ·reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. According to the findings of this study, male students could understand and solve problems well, even if they were less thorough. Female students could understand questions, develop strategies, and solve problems well and carefully. The difference between male and female students ' problem-solving abilities is that they are more focused on formulating problem-solving strategies and counting accuracy.
