The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the Jaro Rojab
tradition, to describe the value of mutual cooperation contained in the Jaro Rojab
tradition, and to describe the advantages and disadvantages of the Jaro Rojab
tradition. This study uses a qualitative approach to ethnographic methods. The
location of this research is in Cikakak Village, Wangon District, Banyumas
Regency. The subjects in this study were caretakers, traditional leaders,
community leaders, members of the Cikakak village tourism awareness group and
community members. Data collection techniques in this study using observation,
interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used by researchers is data
collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results
of this study indicate that: 1) the procession of implementing the Jaro Rojab
tradition is a tradition of changing bamboo fences around the Saka Tunggal
mosque to Kyai Tolih's pesarehan (tomb) which is carried out collectively and
according to the Javanese calendar coincides with the 26th of Rajab. The Jaro
Rojab tradition runs smoothly from morning to noon. 2) The value of mutual
cooperation that appears in the Jaro Rojab tradition is the value of helping, the
value of unity, the value of togetherness, and the value of volunteering. 3) The
advantages of the Jaro Rojab tradition are as a gathering place for children and
grandchildren and as a field to find sustenance for traders who participate in
enlivening the Jaro tradition. While the drawback is that the participation of the
younger generation is still small.
