Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out student’s problems in writing descriptive text, and the most dominant student’s problem in writing descriptive text. The participants of this study were the 11th grade students of SMK N 1 Purbalingga. This research was a survey that used quantitative method in analyzing the data. The data were collected through questionnaires. There were 50 respondents who filled the questionnaire. The results are motivation, lack of practice, vocabulary, lack of knowledge about writing, grammar, teacher's feedback, inadequate time, organizing ideas, developing ideas. However, in the analysis of the questionnaire the most dominant problem was motivation aspect, which is 96%.
