This research aimed to find out the effect of political awareness on political
participation of Cipatujah villagers, Tasikmalaya regency in the election of
regional head 2020. A descriptive method with a quantitative approach was used
as a method in this research. The population in this research was Cipatujah
villagers, Tasikmalaya regency who have fulfilled the requirements in using their
rights to vote. The sampling technique used in this research was the Slovin
formula with a critical value of 10% and the sample used was the Cipatujah
villagers, Tasikmalaya regency who have fulfilled the requirements in using their
rights to vote with a total of 98 people. A questionnaire, observation, and
documentation were used as a collecting data technique in this research. The
analysis data technique used two techniques namely percentage descriptive data
analysis and statistical analysis techniques. The results of this research showed
that there is a significant positive effect of political awareness on political
participation of the Cipatujah villagers, Tasikmalaya regency in the 2020
regional head election. The effect of the political awareness variable on the
political participation of Cipatujah villagers, Tasikmalaya regency in the 2020
regional head election is 0.073 which can be interpreted that the independent
variable (X) has a contribution effect of 7.3% to the dependent variable (Y) and
the other 92.7% is affected by other factors not examined in this research.
