The purpose of this study is to examine and find empirical evidence of the effect of corporate governance, leverage, liquidity, and firm size on financial distress. The population used in this study are financials sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019-2020 period. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Sample data obtained as many as 42 companies with 82 samples of data that meet the criteria. The data sources for this research are financial reports or annual reports published on the website www.idx.co.id. The data analysis model used is multiple linear regression analysis with the help of the SPSS program. The results in this study indicate that the size of the board of commissioners, managerial ownership, and institutional ownership have no effect on financial distress, then leverage and firm size have a negative effect on financial distress, while liquidity has a positive effect on financial distress.
