This research aimed to find out the types of code mixing in a novel. The researcher
used quantitative research design. The data were taken from Indonesian novel,
Entangling Game by Stefiani Emasurya, while the data were words, phrases or
sentences of code mixing. In collecting data, the occurences of English code mixing
in one of the section in novel were noted, and the data were classified and tabulated.
The result of this research showed that there were two types of code mixing found
in the novel. They were 215 (65.2%) insertion types, 115 (34.8%) alternation types,
and no case of congruent lexicalization appeared.
