Abstract

In accordance with the curriculum demands in the standard of the educational
process, one of the principles of learning is the use of information and
communication technology to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of learning.
One of the learning information technologies which can be developed by teachers
is Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media. The purpose of this research
was to determine the effect of AR learning media to improve the eighth-grade
students learning outcomes on human digestive system material through online
learning. This was a quasi-experimental research with a Nonequivalent Control
Group Design. The research data were collected using tests and questionnaires.
The results of pretest and posttest were analyzed using Independent Sample TTest
and Paired Sample t-Test. While the results of the questionnaire were
analyzed using a quantitative descriptive method. The results of the Independent
Sample T-Test analysis indicated a significance value of 0.05( 0.001)meaning that
there was a significant difference of the average post-test score between the
control class and experimental class. Besides, the results of the Paired Sample t-
Test analysis in the experimental class showed a significance value of 0.000,
meaning that there was a significant difference in the average score of pretest and
posttest (between before and after the implementation of AR-based learning
media). In addition, the average score of the questionnaire analysis results was
87%, meaning that it was in a very good category. In conclusion, augmented
reality learning media has a significant effect on improving the eighth-grade
students learning outcomes on the digestive system material and it was well
appreciated by the students.
