Abstract

To see the comparison of the quality of generic drugs with preparations whose bioequivalence cannot be known between the two preparations. Gliclazide belongs to the BCS class 2 classification system with slow drug absorption and good drug permeability. Glyclazide is practically insoluble in air and exhibits low intrinsic dissolution rates and bioavailability. Development through a continuous release dosage form is a dosage form designed to release the drug into the body slowly or gradually for longer release and drug action. From continuous release formulations to tablet dosage forms and comparable dissolution tests are carried out with tablets to ensure quality and product properties with minor changes in formulation. Methods: A literature study using several relevant references / articles was then analyzed and synthesized. Results: Based on the results of a literature study by looking at the dissolution test data parameters that were comparable to that of the parameter criteria and showed that the continuous release Gliclazid tablet and the brand continuous release Gliclazid tablet had no differences in dissolution profile. Conclusion: Tablets presumed to have a dissolution profile comparable to tablet brands.
