This study aims to describe the misuse of spelling, diction, sentence structure,
and unnecessary words in official letters issued by Pangebatan village apparatus.
This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data in this study are the
language of official letters issued by village apparatus. The data source in this study
was an official letter issued by the Pangebatan village apparatus in 2019. The
methods and techniques of this research were data reduction, data presentation, and
verification. The result of this study shows that there are 1,010 language errors in
official letters consisting of: (1) 709 misspellings, (2) 91 errors on diction, (3) 61
