Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted education tremendously. The implementation of remote learning has been obligatory. This learning requires slightly different preparation compared to direct one. This study aimed to describe the preparation of classroom teachers in remote learning at SD Negeri 2 Kemutug Lor Banyumas and also to know the obstacles encountered by the teacher. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques used observation, interview, and documentation. The research subjects were grade I to grade VI teachers. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman’s theory which involves data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The data validation used the source triangulation technique. The results showed that the teacher’s preparation in remote learning includes 1) compiling lesson plan (RPP), 2) determining learning materials, 3) determining learning methods, 4) determining learning media, and 5) designing learning evaluation. Classroom teachers must prepare remote learning process optimally. Supporting factors in preparing remote learning were: 1) references or guidelines in compiling lesson plans, 2) coordination with the principal, 3) videos as learning media downloaded from the YouTube, 4) material accessed from the internet, and 5) the presence of easily accessed technology. The inhibiting factors of classroom teacher were: 1) suitable learning process to the ability of students and their parents, appropriate material and various learning methods, 2) teacher’s confusion in determining the learning material, 3) teacher’s difficulties in determining mathematics learning methods, 4) teacher’s difficulties in making instructional videos, and 5) teacher’s difficulties in giving assignments and determining its techniques for students.
