This study describes about the moral values of the characters in the 5cm novel
by Donny Dhirgantoro. The moral is identified by human's morals and manner which
is related to the good and bad behavior of human. This study aimed to know the
literatures' effect on the human's moral values to think when they will do everything,
they will not harm others. This was descriptive qualitative research with note-taking
important points technique. The data collection used noting technique in order to
describe every form of moral values that exist in the story. The researcher concludes
that the forms of the moral value are human personal relationship such as selfconfidence,
patience, and friendly; the second is the interpersonal relationship such
as mutual assistance, dutiful to parents, and cooperation; the third is the relationship
between human and the environment such as praising the beauty of nature and
protecting it; the last is the human relationship with God such as praying and being
grateful. The dominant moral value found in the 5cm novel by Donny Dhirgantoro is
the friendship of five friends who have existed more than ten. They always want to be
together and develop themselves so that they become a better person, even when they
live in a household, their friendship is still strong.
