This thesis discussed the roles of the General Election Commission (KPU) of
Purbalingga in improving the political participation of the community in
Purbalingga Regency. The study aimed to reveal the roles and to find out
supporting and inhibiting factors of the KPU Purbalingga in improving political
participation in the 2019 General Election. The research type was descriptive
qualitative which clearly illustrated the role of the KPU Purbalingga in improving
public political participation in the 2019 General Election. Data collection
techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The subjects
of the study were the chairperson of the KPU Purbalingga, community leaders,
and the public. Data were analyzed by the stages of data reduction, data display,
and conclusion drawing. The results of the study illustrated the role of the KPU
Purbalingga in improving Community Voters Participation in 2019 election was
to conduct direct and indirect socialization of political education by conducting
workshops at schools, inducting PPS and PPK as well as democracy volunteers
