Abstract

Intersection is part of a meeting between three or more road segments, where flows from various directions. At the intersection of the Patikraja market highway, conflicts often occur between currents from opposite directions that intersect each other, resulting in congestion along the intersection arm. Given these problems, it is necessary to conduct research on the performance of unsigned intersections at these intersections. To find out the performance of unsignalized T- junction on the Patikraja market highway through the large volume of traffic and the degree of saturation of the intersection.
This study used a direct survey for 2 days on April 30, 2019 and May 4, 2019 at 06.00-18.00 WIB. It was analyzed using MKJI 1997, produced data for 2019 with vehicle volume of 5400 vehicles / hour and DS = 1.50 ≥ 0.75 (saturated). So that handling was done by making scenario I, by reducing the width of the road shoulder to widen the main road B and the main road D = 2 meters and the minor road C = 75 cm the DS value = 1.41 ≥ 0.75 (saturated). Scenario II, by adding roundabouts to the intersection but it could not be done because of limited land on the road. Scenario III, technical changes to non-signalized intersections become signaled intersections by using 3 phases with the same width of road as scenario I. DS values = 0.45 ≤ 0.75 (unsaturated) are obtained. In 2024, based on predictions, the traffic volume increased to 8603 vehicles / hour and the DS value = 0.69 ≤ 0.75 but in the minor road C, DS value = 0.76 ≥ 0.75 (saturated). So that in 2024 the scenario IV will be created, with widening of the road 2 meters for the main road segments B and D. DS value = 0.56 ≤ 0.75 (unsaturated) is obtained.
