This study aimed to describe the types of language styles contained in the song
lyrics of Andmesh Kamaleng's Cinta Luar Biasa album. The research method was
descriptive qualitative and the approach used was stylistic. The data were collected in
form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that contained language style in the
song lyrics in Andmesh Kamaleng's Cinta Luar Biasa album. The data source of this
research was the songs in the album. The object of this research was to determine the
types of language styles used in the song lyrics. The data in this research were
collected using reading and note-taking techniques. The data were then analyzed
using the data analysis model of Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data
presentation, and data verification. The results of this research show that there were
several language styles found in the song lyrics, namely (a) affirmation language
styles including apophasis/preterisio, inversion/anastrophe, climax, parallelism,
anadiplosis repetition, anaphoric repetition, assonance repetition, epanalepsis
repetitions, epistrophe repetitions, epizeuxisrepetitions, mesodiplosis repetitions,
asyndeton, and polysyndeton repetitions. (b) Comparative language styleincluded
antonomasia, euphemism, hyperbole, litotes, personification, simile, and synesthesia.
(c) The language style of conflict consisted of antithesis and paradox. All data in this
research were analyzed according to predetermined research procedures. To
conclude, the most dominant use of language style is repetition category affirmation.
Each of the language styles above has various kinds of stylistic functions, namely to
beautify the sound, enliven or clarify the picture of a thing/feeling, evoke a certain
atmosphere and impression, and emphasize meaning.
