Abstract

A good transport performance must produce an effective service, also can
fulfill the demands of passengers and community activities. The method that
used in collecting the data of this research was by field survey technique and
interview then continued by collected primary and secondary data. For
knowing the number of passengers who transported was done by manual
counting that was carried out along the route of public transport fleets
Wanareja-Majenang route. The result obtained from the analysis calculation
about optimization the number of public transport fleets at the Wanareja
region, Wanareja-Majenang route. Knowing the number of public transport
fleets that optimum so all of the movement are facilitated without ignoring the
prominence of passengers or the owner of public transport and knowing the
economic viability. Related to the optimum number of fleets so that it is
efficient. After the data was tabulated and analyzed it is obtained that based
on survey and evaluation. For the number of passengers who transported on
Wanareja-Majenang and Majenang-Wanareja route with the average 55
passengers per days. For the number of fleets that optimum on WanarejaMajenang
route and vice versa was 6-10 vehicles per day. According to that
analysis showed that public transport Wanareja-Majenang route with rates
Rp. 4. 000 - Rp. 7. 000 for general passengers and Rp. 2. 000 for students can
fulfill the economic viability according to the value of BCR and NPV, but only
when passengers' capacity is above average, because in the condition of the
minimum passengers ' capacity of the public transport, the economic viability
is fulfilled
