This study aimed to know the public awareness level at the importance of early
childhood education in Cikadu, Bingkeng village Dayeuhluhur sub-district
Cilacap district. The type of this study was combination research by using mixed
methods between quantitative and qualitative methods. Subjects of this study were
Cikadu people who were about 20-45 years. The research took place in Cikadu
village. Questionnaire and interview were the
methods of data collection in this study. Data analysis of this study used a
combination type/Embedded Mixed Methods design. The findings of this study
indicate the mean value of respondents questionnaire obtained was 33 with a
standard deviation value of 3,30 so the t value obtained was -25, then the t table
value obtained was 1,69 with a significant level of 0,05. Therefore, the hypothesis
accepted in this study was Ha and Ho is rejected
because of the value of t table t count. Thus, the analysis result of public
awareness level at the importance of early childhood education in Cikadu village
was high. The interview result data in this study indicate Cikadu people have a
high awareness of the importance of early childhood education, but in its
implementation, there are several things that affect the lack of people's interest in
engaging their children in PAUD so the finding indicates a high level of
awareness but in reality, its implementation is not optimal.
