Abstract
Tinea pedis infection dermatofita on foot, especially on the sidelines of the
toes which is often found in people who daily uses shoes is closed accompanied a
bad foot treatment, also caused by Trichophyton rubrum fungus infection. The
purpose of this research was to determine the activity of antifungal gel
formulations and fraction of ethyl acetate onion against fungus T. rubrum and test
the physical properties of formulations. The method of research conducted to test
antifungal activity i.e. the diffusion by means of sumuran. The results of the
research of ethyl acetate fraction onions contain allisin, flavonoids, tannins,
saponins, steroid and triterpenoid. Ethyl acetate fraction of onion with a
concentration of 5%, 7.5% and 12.5% have antifungal activity as cause of tinea
pedis with strong to moderate categories. Gel fraction of ethyl acetate onion
meets the requirements of test organoleptis, its homogeneity, pH and viscosity,
whereas does not meet the requirements of test power power spread and latched
onto a gel. Gel fraction of ethyl acetate onion on formulation I, II and III have
antifungal activity as cause of tinea pedis by category. One way ANOVA
statistical test showed a significant difference between the formulation with the
negative control value is 0.000 significance (P < 0.05) and positive controls with
different formulations of significant value 0.000 significance (P < 0.05) .
