Abstract

This research was aimed at revealing the students‘ perception towards feedback in speaking class at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Quantitative research using a survey was used as a research method. This research was conducted from May to June in the English language Education Department academic years 2017 and 2018. 25% of the population was used as a sample using random sampling, so the sample was 40 students. Questionnaire and interview were used as the method in collecting data. The result showed students‘ perception towards feedback in speaking class was positive, and it can be seen from the questionnaire that most of the students (78.48%) showed positive perception towards feedback in speaking class. The questionnaire result supported by the interview result, which showed that the majority of students felt helped by feedback to correct their mistakes in speaking, but sometimes students can feel miserable after got feedback.
