Abstract

The increase of population in urban areas has a major impact on the development of various sectors, especially from the transportation sector in the Semarang City area. Moreover, the crossing of the Jrakah Station railroad also cause delays, an increase in the number of vehicles and long queue during rush hour which affects the loss fuel at idle by each vehicle user when passing one crossing. This study was intended to determine the value of the time delay to the consumption of fuel due to the level crossing of the Jrakah Station railroad. This study used a comparison of two methods namely LAPI ITB and AUTO 2000 methods. Secondary data in the form of delay time, vehicle volume, and queue length were used in this study. The results of the calculation of the cost of fuel consumption against the value of the time delay the crossing of the Jrakah Station railroad showed that the AUTO 2000 method had the highest amount of fuel consumption of IDR 8.369.442 in 1 year. Compared to the LAPI ITB method which produced 0,4165 liters/smp from south to north and 0,4356 liters/smp from north to south. The difference in result is because the AUTO 2000 method the value F (Fuel Consumption) hass been according to the condition vehicle engine in 2000. While while in the LAPI ITB method consider the length of time delay to make the value of vehicle fuel the consumption lower
