Abstract

This research focused on the figure of speech that was used in the slogan of tea and coffe advertisement on TV and aimed to describe its figure of speech and semantic meaning in the slogan which were implicated in Bahasa Indonesia learning on the eighth grade of Junior High School. This was descriptive qualitative research whose data were collected through observation and analyzed using meaning analysis with the existing theory. The data identification was done to determine the collected data be then categorized and presented based on the language type in the form of table and description. The research and analysis showed there were 44 data of slogans containing figures of speech and 3 of them contained 2 different speech figures in each slogan. The analysis results included 8 repetitions, 4 personifications, 32 hyperboles, 1 aliteration, and 2 assonances. The implications in Bahasa Indonesia learning on the eighth grade of Junior High School at first semester were on the main material of advertisement text, slogan, and poster.
