This research reveals about gender inequality in the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and the Princess and the Frog movies. It is aimed to find out gender inequality in terms of love and sacrifices that is experienced by the female characters: Ariel, Belle and Tiana in the three movies.
In conducting this research, the researcher uses Simon De Beauvoir theory The Woman in Love. By using that theory, the researcher divides the analysis into two parts: gender inequality seen in the movies and sacrifices done by the female characters.
The result of the analysis of the female characters in the three movies, especially Ariel and Belle, experience gender inequality in terms of love. They are the only ones who experienced painful life caused by men while the men do not experience it. However, everything is covered by love, so it happens as if it is normal. Moreover, Ariel, Belle and Tiana also sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the men they love.
