Abstract

This research aimed to find out the roles of Civic Education teacher to improve the students' legal awareness in obeying the school's code of conduct, the problems faced by teacher, and the efforts to overcome the problems. This research used case study method with qualitative approach. The data were collected using interview, observation, documentation, and literature study then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion/verification. The results showed that Civic Education teacher played a role in improving students' legal awareness towards the school's code of conduct. However, there was a problem faced by teacher that was the lack of students' legal awareness which came from within the students themselves. The efforts to overcome that problem included giving sanction of warning to students who violated the school's code of conduct, calling the parents of students with serious violation, giving counseling and cooperating with society around the school.
