Abstract

The aim of the research was to find out the effectiveness of pairs check technique for teaching reading comprehension. This research used quasi experimental method. Two classes were chosen as the experimental group and control group. Pre-test dan post-test were used to collect the data. The test consisted of 15 multiple choice items nad 5 matching items. T-test was used to anaylize the data. The result of the research showed that pairs check technique was effective for teaching reading comprehension. It could be seen on the result of computation of t-test, where t-result was 3.061 and t-table was 1.671 at the significant level α=0.05 in d.f=60. T-test result was higher than t-table (3.061 > 1.671)
