This research was conducted at Sri Rahayu Village. It is administratively located in Karangklesem Urban Village,Purwokerto Selatan Sub-district, Banyumas Regency. As one of the villages in the Purwokerto urban area, Sri Rahayu was a unique village and had interesting problems, thus it was taken as the object of the research. This research aimed to find out the characteristics of the community and settlement found in Sri Rahayu Village. Based on the results of the research, it was obtained that most of the houses in Sri Rahayu Village were rented to urbanists. The house only had one space used for all activities and there was no private space. In addition most of the infrastructure and facilities in the village were not in good quality. Meanwhile the results of the slum level analysis indicated the condition of the settlement in Sri Rahayu Village were categorized as medium slum settlement.
