Abstract
This study aimed to describe students' metacognition in solving mathematics problems viewed from the learning style of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Patikraja on the topic of proportion. This research applied the descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of the research were grade VII E students of SMP Negeri 1 Patikraja. The subjects were collected through the purposive sampling technique. There were 9 students; 3 students as the subject of visual learning style, 3 students as the subject of auditory learning style, and 3 students as the subject of kinesthetic learning style. The data were collected through questionnaires, tests, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research showed that students metacognition in solving mathematics problems with the visual learning style covered three metacognition indicators, namely declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge, and conditional knowledge. Students metacognition in solving mathematics problems with the auditory learning style covered declarative knowledge, fair procedural knowledge, and conditional knowledge. Subsequently, students metacognition in solving mathematics problems solving with the kinesthetic learning style covered the declarative knowledge and procedural knowledge.
