This research aimed to find out the factors that caused early marriages in Punggelan Sub-district, Banjarnegara Regency. The method employed was survey method. The population in this study was 30 people who got married at their young age. A purposive sampling technique was used with the criteria of young married couples and young brides. The sample in this study amounted to 13 people. The research data were collected using a questionnaire containing closed-ended questions. Then the data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative method.
The results indicated that the factors of early marriage in Punggelan Sub-district, Banjarnegara Regency were custom or tradition, education, parents, social media, and promiscuity or the environment. The most dominant factors were custom or tradition and education.
