The research on the value of social awareness on lower grade students of SD Negeri 3 Gandatapa was necessary to be conducted since the value of students' concern currently indicated declining symptoms. The research aimed to determine the process of instilling the value of lower grade students 'social awareness and the forms of lower grade students' social awareness values in elementary school. This type of research was descriptive qualitative. Participants in this study were the principal, the 1st grade class teacher, the 2nd grade class teacher, the 3rd grade class teacher, the 1st grade students, the 2nd grade students, and the 3rd grade students. Observation, interviews and documentation were used as data collection techniques. Data analysis in this study used source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results demonstrated that the process of instilling the value of social awareness on lower grade students was carried out through: (1) integration in the personal development program in the form of routine school activities, spontaneous activities, examples, and conditioning; (2) integration in the school subjects in the form of inserting social awareness character values into the syllabus and lesson plans, including social care character values into learning; (3) integration to school culture in the form of integration in the classroom, school and non-school activities. Forms of social awareness values on lower grade students included (1) sharing food with friends; (2) thanking the janitor; (3) lending stationery to students who did not carry or did not have and; (4) collecting money and goods for victims of natural disasters.
