Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of improving science process skills through the Group Investigation model on the learning outcomes of grade X students at SMA Muhammadiyah Boarding School Zam-Zam Cilongok. The Quasi-Experimental method was a method used in this study with Post-Test Only Control Group Design. All students of grade X MIPA (Mathematics and Science) became the population in the study an cluster random sampling was conducted and chose X MIPA 3 as the experimental class and X MIPA 2 as the control class. To determine the correlation between science process skills and studentd learning outcomes, data analysis test were carried out by Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results discovered that science process skills contributed to a significant effect on students learning outcomes with varying levels of correlation. To measure the value of students learning outcomes, a written test was accomplished tn the form of a Post-Test. The average score of Post-Test of the experimental class was higher than the average score of Post-Test control class or 77,81 in the experiment class and 69,38 in control class. Based on these results, it can be drawn that science process skills through Group Investigation model contributed a significant effect on the learning outcomes of grade X students at SMA Muhammadiyah Boarding School Zam-Zam Cilongok.
