The study aimed to determine the role of scouting extracurricular activities in
instilling students' discipline at SMP Negeri 1 Rembang. It was a qualitative study
with descriptive methods. The subjects were Civic Education teachers, Student
Deputy, Counseling Teachers, and students of grade VII and VIII. The data were
collected using interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The data
analysis method included data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions,
and verification. The validity of the data was conducted by extending the
observation period, observing carefully, triangulating, using sufficient references,
and member checking. The results indicated that in scouting extracurricular
activities, the students developed disciplinary character by using reinforcement
through exemplary examples.
