Abstract
This study was aimed at investigating the effect of emotional intelligence and work-family conflict on the performance of employees in Bank Jateng Syariah Purwokerto. The hypothesis of this study was that emotional intelligence and work-family conflict affect employee's performance in Bank Jateng Syariah Purwokerto.
The study involved 45 employees of Bank Jateng Syariah Purwokerto. The technique analysis used in this study was multiple linear regression. In addition, the instruments used in this study were emotional intelligence scale, work-family scale and performance scale and the r table value was 0.312. There were 33 valid items and 7 invalid items in emotional intelligence with the validity score between 0.353 to 0.766. Furthermore, it was found that there were 31 valid items and 9 invalid items in the work-family conflict scale with the validity score between 0.39 to 0.987. On the other hand, there were 33 valid items and 7 invalid items in the performance scale with validity score between 0.313 to 0.852.
Based on the result of multiple linear regression analysis, it showed that the effect of emotional intelligence and work-family conflict toward the performance of employees with 5% significant level resulted in probability value sig. (p)= 0,000 )p0,05). This finding shows that there is a significant effect between emotional intelligence and work-family conflict toward the performance of employees in Bank Jateng Syariah Purwokerto branch.
