Abstract

In order to preserve nature, efforts should be made to determine the
potential of fish in a community, one of which is to know the age structure and the
condition of fish. This study aims to determine the age structure based on the total
length and weight of fish and the condition of fish in the Logawa River in the
Banyumas district. The study was conducted using a survey method with
purposive random sampling technique. This research was carried out at three
different locations, namely location I (Upper Logawa river), Location II (middle
part of the Logawa river) and Location III (downstream of the Logawa river).
Each one is determined in three sampling points, namely the right bank of the
river, the river in the middle and the river in the left. Sampling on fish using
equipment in the form of nets, nets, and seser. Sampling was carried out six times
(January 2019 - June 2019) with a time interval of one month and set at the
second week. Water quality was analyzed descriptively against physical, chemical
and biological parameters. Data analysis includes Age Structure and Fish
Condition Factor. The results showed the quality of waters in the Logawa river
were in good condition and suitable to support fish survival. During the study 289
fish were obtained. Which is included in 17 species, 9 families and 3 orders. The
age structure of fish obtained during the study showed more young fish in white
fish and soft fish. As well as showing fish communities in the Logawa River are
in prone conditions for white fish and soft fish. The condition factor that is caught
in the Logawa river based on (price b) is included in the thin category because it
has a condition factor (price b) <3, which means it has a negative allometric
growth pattern.
