Abstract

The aim of the research was to find out the factors in which make the students feel anxious in speaking class. This research belongs to survey in which the reseacher used random sampling to choose the subject. It was conducted in second semester of English Education Department in which it took 25% from the population as the samples. In order to answer the research questions, three instruments were used. Those were questionnaire and interview. Based on the result of questionnaire, there are 65,62 % of students felt anxious in which consisted of seven factors such as communication apprehension, test anxiety, fear of negative evaluation, lack of motivation, negative self-perception, speaking activities, and competitiveness. Then it was supported by the result of interview, the students’ answer in interview shows that the students felt anxious in speaking.
