Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the roles of the leading sectors
and Shift Share of leading sectors in the economy in Banjarnegara Regency, to
find out the leading sectors, and to find out the shift-share of the leading sectors.
The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive. The data used
are secondary data in the form of ADHK GRDP data in 2010 and the rate of
economic growth of Banjarnegara Regency and Central Java Province. Time
series data for the last five years (2013-2017) obtained from BPS Banjarnegara
Regency and Central Java Province were used to know Banjarnegara Regency in
statistics. Analysis of the data used is the Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share
analysis.
The results of this study showed that: 1) in the period of 2013-2017 there were
ten leading sectors in Banjarnegara Regency, namely: Mining and Quarrying
Sector; Agriculture, forestry and fisheries; Health services; Educational services;
Other services; Government Administration, Transportation and warehousing;
Wholesale and retail trade; Company services; and Financial Services and
Insurance. 2) The results of the analysis method using the differential growth
component (Dj) in Banjarnegara Regency from 17 sectors indicated that there
were 5 sectors that grew slower than the same economic sector as Central Java
Province, so these 5 sectors had low competitiveness and were not potential to be
developed to spur economic growth in Banjarnegara Regency, while the
proportional growth component (Pj) shows that there is 1 sector with a positive
average value, this means that Banjarnegara Regency grew faster in the same
sector than the fast-growing sector in the economy of Central Java Province. Of
the 17 sectors in Banjarnegara Regency, based on the results of the Shift Share
analysis using the differential component (Dj), there are 1 large and retail trade
sectors with an average (Dj) of 30.479873 which is growing faster than the same
economic sector as the Central Java Province. For the Regional Government of
Banjarnegara Regency, BPS PDRB data in Banjarnegara District should be
displayed in the agricultural sub-sector so that detailed income data can be
known.
