Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of humic-fulvic acid at different dosage to the growth and yield of shallots on planting media contaminated with Pb heavy metal, to define the Pb heavy metal content of the onion tubers administered with humic-fulvic acid at different doses. The study was conducted for 3 (three) months from January to April 2019, at the Green House, Agriculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The study was a factorial experiment implemented Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with humic-fulvic acid as the factor divided into 4 levels of humic-fulvic acid doses; 0 ml/polybag, 750 ml/polybag, 1500 ml/polybag and 2250 ml/polybag. It was repeated until 7 times and obtained 28 experimental units. Data were analyzed through ANOVA test. If ANOVA test defines a significant treatment, DMRT testing will proceed at 5% significant level. The results proved that humic-fulvic acid dosage significantly affected the total root length variable only. The best treatment was in K2 or a dose of 1500 ml/polybag humic-fulvic acid. The implementation of humic-fulvic acid can reduce the content of heavy metals Pb in onion tubers by 26.29%.
