Abstract

The objective of this study was: 1) to find out the profile of tofu craftsmen. 2) to find out the costs,revenues, and income generated from the tofu agroindustry. 3) to find out the economic factors that influence tofucraftsmen on the demand for imported soybeans in Kalisari Village, Cilongok District, Banyumas Regency. The economic factors which were studied included the price of local soybeans, the price of imported soybeans, the amount of production, and the income. This research was conducted from June to December 2020 in Kalisari Village, Cilongok District, Banyumas Regency. This study used a survey with a questionnaire. In addition, it involved primary data and secondary data. The data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The samples were selected using the purposive sampling technique with a total of 35 respondents. Furthermore, the variable operational definitions included tofu craftsmen, imported soybeans, demand for imported soybeans, artisan profiles, and economic factors. Afterward, the data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The result showed that the required fixed cost was IDR 524,330/month.Meanwhile, the variable cost was IDR 10,490,636/month. So, the total cost was IDR 11,014,966/month. On theother hand, the earned revenue was IDR 13,116,480/month. In addition, the earned income was IDR2,101,514/month. The factors of local soybean prices, imported soybean prices, total production, and income, allaffect the demand for imported soybeans. The factors of local soybean prices, imported soybean prices, totalproduction, and income partially have positive effects. Moreover, there was no significant effect on the demand forlocal soybean.
