Abstract

The study aimed to figure out the role, the profile and their members, productive activities of farmer group, problems and solutions, and the role of farmer group Setia Phoren Sari in empowering coconut sugar craftsmen. A quantitative-qualitative descriptive method was used in this study. The study had been carried out in Derik village, Susukan sub-district, Banjarnegara regency for 4 months, from March to June 2021. The data were primary data and secondary data. The samples were selected using the census technique with 25 people. The results showed that (1) the farmer group was established in 2016 with 25 members and was already a legal entity on December 29, 2016. (2) The activities carried out by the farmer group included gathering, savings and loans, training, counseling, and procurement of assistance. (3) There were problems and solutions in the farmer group. (a) natural factors (dry season), lack of productive activities in empowering coconut sugar craftsmen, lack of capital, weak cooperation partners with other parties. (b) The solutions included socialization and training from related parties, building partnerships with other parties, and making proposals. (4) The role of farmer group in each element covered (a) class study which was included in good criteria; (b) means of cooperation were included in the medium criteria; (c) the production unit was included in the poor criteria.
