Abstract

The use of cytokines can result in uncontrolled immunomodulator storms. Immunomodulators are not the same as vitamins, which the body can excrete when they are no longer required. When the immune system in the body becomes overactive, the body becomes sensitive and the balance of lymphocyte cells is disrupted. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship and influence of knowledge, attitude, and behavior variables on decisions to use immunomodulatory traditional medicines, which are frequently used in self-medication. This was an observational analytic study that used sample calculation with the Slovin formula. Questionnaires and interviews were used as the data collection methods. The study was conducted in the Banyumas Regency drugstore with 230 visitors' drugstore respondents. The study's findings were dominated by 185 (80.4%) respondents with high knowledge, 113 (49.1%) respondents with fairly positive attitudes, and 124 (53.9%) respondents with positive behavior. Based on the Chi-square test result, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship and influence between the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of pharmacy visitors in Banyumas Regency on the decision to use immunomodulatory traditional medicines with p value (0.000) <0.05. The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the knowledge variable that had the most influence on the use of traditional immunomodulatory drugs with anvalue odds ratio of 0.330. And the results of qualitative research the factors that influence the decision to use immunomodulatory traditional medicines include information sources, education, occupation, age and experience, interests, economy, and socio-cultural environment.
