Abstract

This study aimed to test the effectiveness of siam weed (kirinyuh) and nutsedge weed (teki) weed extracts to control downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis) in Bisi 18 and Sumo NK 7328 varieties. This study implemented a two-factorial completely randomized design (CRD); corn variety factor and fungicide type factor. This research was conducted from March to August 2021 at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture and Fisheries, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The results revealed that the variety factor contributed No. significant effect, except for the variable weight of loose cobs. The type of fungicide showed a significant effect on the area and intensity of downy mildew with the lowest intensity on copper oxide fungicides 20.43% compared to siam weed extract fungicides and nutsedge weed extracts. The lowest disease intensity interaction was available in the sumo variety which was applied with the copper oxide fungicide. The Bisi 18 variety applied with siam weed and java grass extract, and the Sumo variety applied with siam weed extract showed an effect on the intensity of downy mildew which was not significantly different from that applied with copper oxide fungicide.
