The study entitled Language Register to Bangkok Rooster Hobbyist in Sirandu
Village, Karangjambu sub-district of Purbalingga Regency aimed to describe the
referential meaning and figurative meaning available of the register in the speech of
Bangkok rooster hobbyist in Sirandu Village, Karangjambu sub district, Purbalingga
Regency. The research approach was qualitative descriptive. The data of the study
were utterances from native speaker of Bangkok rooster hobbyist in Sirandu Village,
Karangjambu sub district, Purbalingga Regency. Data sources were obtained from ten
native speakers (Bangkok rooster hobbyists) in Sirandu Village, Karangjambu sub
district, Purbalingga Regency. The stages of the study were data provision, data
analysis, and presentation of data analysis. In the stage of data provision, observation
method with advanced techniques in the form of Uninvolved Conversation
Observation Technique (SBLC) techniques, recording technique, and note-taking
technique. The data analysis stage conducted a distributional method with the basic
technique of dividing key-factors (PUP) and using advanced techniques in the form
deletion and paraphrasing technique. The stage of presenting the results of data
analysis using informal methods. The results of the analysis obtain the speech
registers of the Bangkok rooster hobbyist are 52 utterances. The referential meaning
contained in the register is 47 utterances, and the figurative meaning contained in the
register is 5 utterances. These speeches aimed at choosing superior quality of
Bangkok rooster.
