Abstract
The phenomenon of female workers which increasingly occurred in
Banyumas Regency, especially in the Margasana Village, Plywood Factory, has
not received attention from the government. Lack of legal protection for the
fulfillment of the full rights and obligations of women workers as explicitly
regulated in Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower became the main reason.
The impact was many companies have not given overall rights to women workers.
The purposes of this study were to analyze the protection of women workers and to
find out the legal protection of the rights of women workers in the Margasana
Village Plywood Factory, Banyumas Regency. The methods were the juridical
normative and the empirical juridical approach using primary data and secondary
data. The results of this study indicated that the practice of legal protection for
female workers at the Plywood Factory in Margasana has not been fully fulfilled
Banyumas in implementing the implementation of their rights. The obstacles faced
by companies in providing legal protection for female workers were the lack of land
to build facilities to support the fulfillment of workers' rights and the unstable
economic conditions of the company in carrying out production. The government
should have taken the initiative to conduct a direct field survey before allowing a
company to carry out production activities and should not only rely on data
provided or reported by the company.
