Abstract

This research aimed to find out English students’ perception of online learning during covid-19 pandemic in 6th semester students at English Education Department of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. This research was a survey research that used quantitative methods in analyzing the data. Data was obtained using questionnaire and interview. The respondents of this research were 40 students of 6th semester in English Education Department who were selected from 3 classes, consist of class A, B, and C. The result from questionnaire showed that the students have a good category, it means that students have positive perception about online learning with the percentage of 66.25%. However, the result of the interview did not support the result of questionnaire because that were many problems experienced by students during online learning activities such as boredom, not focusing when learning, lack of interaction, unstable signal, limited internet quota, but online learning remains the best solution that can be done in the midst of this pandemic.
