Abstract

The study aimed to know the role of parents in mentoring students remote learning and the obstacles of parents on remote learning at SD Negeri Bulupayung 03 in the academic year 2020/2021. This study was qualitative using a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were classroom teachers, two students parents from grades 1-6, and 2 students from grades 1-6. The data collection was obtained from an interview, observation, and documentation. The author acts as a direct interviewer to explore data through classroom teachers, parents, and students. Study results showed that the role of parents on remote learning in SD Negeri Bulupayung 03 were parents mentoring students when remote learning such as accompanying; supervising children while studying; parents as facilitators; provide facilities and infrastructure to children; provide encouragement; parents as a motivator; parents as an influence; direct students based on their skills and interests. The obstacles of parents on remote learning at SD Negeri Bulupayung 03 were working parents, unemployed parents, and internet quota.
