Abstract

The quality of electrical power is something that needs to be considered. Repair of cos is necessary to minimize the use of electrical equipment. Capacitor banks can improve the power factor (cos ) in consumer electrical equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to have a capacitor bank control system for Internet of Things (IoT)-based electrical power factor correction and a keypad that can improve the value of cos manually or automatically as well as monitoring the amount of electricity through an application on a smartphone and LCD display. The keypad on the capacitor bank design tool is intended to improve the power factor value in controlling capacitors in really urgent conditions. And IoT is intended to control capacitors to improve power factor values that are online. In designing the capacitor using a parallel circuit and equipped with a capacitor indicator on a smartphone and an LCD Display, it is easy to activate the capacitor. This power factor improvement tool can improve the power factor with 36 W TL lamp load before repairing the average value of cos = 0,52 and after repairing the average value of cos = 0,93.
