Abstract
The focus of the problem in this study is the level of digital literacy of students on
the ability to write explanatory texts of eighth-grade students. The aims of this
study were to describe the level of digital literacy and students' knowledge of
digital literacy for eighth-grade students D and to describe its effects. The research
used descriptive quantitative methods. Data collection techniques used interview
methods, questionnaires, and assessing the explanatory text written by the
students. The data collection technique used an online instrument consisting of 30
closed questions, distributed to 37 students of grade VIII D. The results of
students' digital literacy were classified as high with 52.63% of a high literacy
level. HO was rejected and Ha was accepted, which meant that the level of digital
literacy had a significant effect on the ability to write explanatory texts for students
of grade VIIID at SMP Negeri 2 Rawalo.
