This research is entitled Development of Batik in Banyumas Regency 2000-2019. The objectives of this study are (1) to explain the development of batik in Banyumas Regency (2) to explain the philosophy contained in Bayumas batik (3) to explain how to preserve batik in the modern era. The method used to examine the problems in this study is the historical research method. The historical research method includes four stages, namely heuristics which is the process of collecting sources, criticism which is a testing process that considers the historical factors of a text, interpretation which is the process of uniting and describing the data that has been collected and passing through the process of criticism and historiography which is writing or presentation in the form of historical events.
The development of batik in Banyumas Regency 2000-2019 has fluctuated in its development, both in terms of production and innovation. The development of Banyumas batik experienced a turning point in the 2000s when the Banyumas Regency Government held a meeting with batik entrepreneurs and batik players in Banyumas. The philosophy contained in Banyumas batik has its own meaning and value for each motif. Banyumas batik in general has meaning or contained values such as tranquility, harmony and making a good person in society. Preserving Banyumas batik in the modern era is also a necessity for the nation's future generations. In this case the Regional Government of Banyumas Regency plays an important role in preserving Banyumas batik. There are several ways that the government of Banyumas Regency does some policies such as requiring ASNs to use original Banyumas batik, holding a cultural carnival called the Banyumas Extravaganza and observing how the development of Banyumas batik through schools and through batik actors in Banyumas Regency.
