Abstract
Even though almost all SMPs in Banyumas Regency have computer
laboratories equipped with the internet connection, the use of computer-based media in learning science in Banyumas Regency is still limited. Science learning for example in the topic of living things classification generally uses learning media in the form of PowerPoint (PPT). The use of standard designed PPT
resulted in students becoming less interested in learning the topic. Based on this problem, it was necessary to develop a digital science education game as a learning media on topic of the classification of living things to increase students'
motivation. This study aimed to develop digital educational games as learning media on the classification of living things material and to find out the feasibility of digital educational games as a science learning media on the classification of living things material. This is a type of research & development (RD) with ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. Based on the feasibility test by media experts, material experts, students, and teachers, it obtained an average score of 2.88 (good category) from the media experts, 2.92 (good category) from the material experts, 2.84 (good category) from the teachers, and 3.09 (good category) from students. The results of the implementation of digital educational games presented that the use of educational games could increase students' knowledge on the topic of material classification of living things in the low category (N-gain = 0.02). The results also indicated that the digital educational game developed could attract students' interest and motivate students in learning the classification of living things by 3.04 (good category). It can be concluded that this educational game is feasible and suitable for use as a learning media for science on the classification of living
things for the seventh graders of Junior high schools.
