Abstract

This study aims to describe the teachers' strategies in fostering the scientific attitude of students through online learning at SD Negeri 1 Sidareja. This study used descriptive qualitative methods. Techniques of collecting the data included observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this study show that: (1) In fostering scientific attitudes through online learning, teachers used discovery learning, quiz team, interactive strategies, and by giving rewards and additional scoring. Discovery learning strategy is a strategy implemented by the teacher by providing a problem in a material to be discussed. The quiz team strategy is a strategy implemented by the teacher to foster a sense of responsibility by setting the maximum time limit in submitting assignments. The strategy used by the teacher to foster a sense of optimism is by giving rewards to students to raise confidence in expressing opinions. An interactive learning strategy is student-centered learning. (2) The supporting factors to foster scientific attitudes are teachers' creativity, competence, cooperation with parents, motivation, and enthusiasm given to the students, and rewards given. Teachers' difficulty in choosing the right teaching strategy during pandemic and also the lack of internet coverage are the inhibiting factors encountered. The implementation of the right strategies by the teacher can foster scientific attitudes to students through online learning.
